We are a fourth generation winemakers out of Transylvania (Western region of Romania), that learned the lost ancient art of natural wine making (wine produced without modern industrial technology, controlled lab yeast, added alcohol, chemicals or, filtration). Like most countries in this part of the world, Romania was too, affected by the horrors of wars and the brutal communist regime that followed, a regime that destroyed people’s lives, land and cultural identity for nearly half of century. Although today, most land was returned to their rightful owners, most of the vines and the natural winemaking tradition are gone, replaced just like everywhere else by industrial, mass produced, sterile products, so we felt that it’s our duty to somehow revive the lost art of natural winemaking.
